Junior Yawale, LLB
Associate Lawyer
Junior Yawale is an admitted legal practitioner of the National Court of Justice of Papua New Guinea and currently serves as an Associate Lawyer at Stout Lawyers. He was admitted to the Bar in September 2018 after completing his Post Graduate Legal Training at the Papua New Guinea Legal Training Institute and holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Papua New Guinea. Junior has developed solid experience in litigation and commercial practice, having previously practised at Haiara’s Legal Practice before joining Stout Lawyers, where he advises and represents corporate, statutory, and individual clients across all levels of court.
His areas of practice include civil and commercial litigation, judicial review of administrative decisions, tort and negligence claims, claims against the State under the Wrongs (Miscellaneous Proceedings) Act, contract drafting and enforcement, criminal defence, commercial disputes including mortgagee and mortgagor matters, shareholder and director disputes, company law and compliance, conveyancing, and Supreme Court appeals. He has also gained public sector experience through a professional placement with the Department of Justice and Attorney General within the International Crime Division, contributing to legal policy and governance matters.
Junior has undertaken advanced litigation and advocacy training through professional programs conducted by the Bar Association of Queensland, the Victorian Bar, and the Papua New Guinea Bar, further strengthening his courtroom advocacy and legal research skills. He is a member of the Papua New Guinea Law Society and holds a current practising certificate for 2026. In addition to his legal practice, he remains actively involved in community and church outreach initiatives and has participated in student leadership through the UPNG Hela Students Association, reflecting his commitment to professional excellence and community service.
